Dota 2 vs League of Legends
I was wondering, out of Dota 2 or League of Legends, which one is easier to understand for a newbie esports fan? Both seem complicated, but I'm leaning towards LOL because of the art style.
Yeah hard to beat LoL's art style even though DotA was technically the first. They both seem complicated as hell to me! We were kind of talking about it here - I think it's generally whoever has more of the map controlled?

@butfirsttea Yeah, the art style of LOL is just too nice to look at compared to DotA, but wondering if DotA has more information out there as its be around longer for newbies?
I think you're right about the map control thing. LOL's map does look a little more simple to understand, but maybe it's just because of how colorful everything is!
You ever seen Heroes of the Storm? Slightly different, lower skill ceiling I believe compared to LoL and Dota, whether that will be more fun or not to watch/bet on

@butfirsttea I actually played this one and its 100% has a lower skill ceiling (complete moba noob here) but found the one thing with Heros of the Storm is that there are too many map types to keep up with. Unlike Dota or LoL where there is 1 map and you are just learning heros mostly, though that is still a lot of work to do! 🙄
Dota 2 feels a bit more complicated and punishing, especially with stuff like no locked camera and having to constantly manage items. LoL, on the other hand, feels easier to pick up, with quicker games and a simpler learning curve.

@oldvader I didn't know about the no locked camera in Dota 2. That must be even more annoying to keep track of everything on the map while learning the game.
