One of the games on Saturday’s WNBA slate features the Chicago Sky hosting the Indiana Fever. Will Chicago avenge an earlier season loss against their conference rival in our Sky vs Fever pick?
Chicago Seeks Third Consecutive Victory
The Sky dropped their first four contests, but have rebounded with victories in their last two outings. This includes a 94-83 win against the Dallas Wings on May 31.
Ariel Atkins was the driving force behind Chicago’s offense. She scored a game-high 26 points along with four rebounds, four steals, and three assists.
Courtney Vandersloot added 15 points, seven boards, and seven dimes. Second-year forward Angel Reese contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, and three steals.
The Sky limited the Wings to 40 percent shooting overall and just 26.7 percent from beyond the arc. This was Dallas’s 25th consecutive loss when they have failed to score 84 points.
Indiana Looks To Stay Dominant Against Conference Foe
Meanwhile, the Fever have struggled without Caitlin Clark (quad injury) in the rotation. But the team managed to snap a three-game losing streak with an 85-76 victory over the Washington Mystics on Tuesday.
Kelsey Mitchell was the headline performer for Indiana, finishing with 24 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the floor and 4-for-7 from 3-point range. She also handed out three assists and collected two steals.
Indiana held a 69-55 advantage entering the fourth quarter, but Washington began the period with a 12-0 run, trimming the deficit to two points. The Fever responded with their own 7-0 burst to pull away down the stretch.
Sky vs Fever Pick
The Fever are ranked fourth in offensive and defensive efficiency. Conversely, Chicago is a middle-of-the-pack team offensively and ranks last in scoring defense, surrendering 92 points per outing.
Given those numbers and the fact that Indiana has won four of the past five meetings between these franchises, look for the Fever’s dominance against Chicago to continue when these teams clash on Saturday.
