Seattle Aiming For Third Consecutive Victory
Following a three-game losing streak, the Storm have won each of their last two contests. This includes an 89-77 win against the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday.
Skylar Diggins and Gabby Williams powered Seattle’s offense. Diggins scored a team-high 26 points along with seven assists and three rebounds. She also went 4-for-8 from 3-point range. Williams added 21 points and seven assists on 8-of-10 shooting overall and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
The game was close initially, as Seattle led by a four-point margin entering the fourth quarter. But Diggins knocked down a 3-pointer as the shot clock expired, extending the lead to eight points at the five-minute mark. Diggins scored five more points, pushing the Storm’s lead to 84-72 with 2:27 left to play.
Minnesota Looks To Remain Perfect
Meanwhile, the Lynx have won all nine of their games this season. Their latest triumph was an 81-65 victory against the Dallas Wings on Sunday.
Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride shouldered most of the scoring load. Collier’s final stat line included 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and three blocked shots.
Williams logged 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, shooting 6-for-10 from deep. Minnesota led by double digits before Dallas trimmed the deficit to 57-56 heading into the final frame.
Collier opened the scoring in the fourth period with five straight points to increase the lead to 62-56. Natisha Hiedeman knocked down a 3-pointer to push Minnesota’s lead to 77-62 at the 2:24 mark.
